Carwood launches new look, sustainable packaging with integrated digital installer support

The new eco-conscious box features a modern aesthetic, better protection, optimised pack sizes and improved functionality. Integrated QR codes on every box, provide installers with instant access to on-the-job support, reducing workshop downtime and ensuring a right-first-time fit.

Leading remanufacturer and parts distributor, Carwood, has introduced redesigned packaging for its aftermarket remanufactured portfolio. The new and improved boxes feature a cleaner visual identity, a smarter, more sustainable design and improved support for installers. They will be rolled out progressively during 2026, and over time will replace the OEM-branded boxes used for its fuel pumps and injectors, for a more cohesive brand presence.

The final stage in a company-wide rebrand, the new box has been reimagined inside and out. Visually, a cleaner, modern two-colour design on kraft board improves both brand look and recognition. Internal modifications include optimised packs sizes to help save valuable customer shelf space, smarter structural design for increased strength and better opening and handling, and enhanced protection to secure components in transit and reduce the risk of damage.

Sustainability is also at the heart of the redesign. The box is made from FSC-certified kraft board with over 70% recycled content, whilst the resizing has removed empty void and lowered material usage by 32.5% – saving up to 5.2 tonnes of material and 6.9 tonnes of CO₂, based on current annual production. Although the box has been engineered to return core, both the inner and outer packaging materials can be fully recycled in mainstream waste. By promoting reuse, and eliminating both unnecessary and difficult-to-recycle mixed materials, the company aims to reduce waste and encourage more circular practices in the aftermarket.

The updated packaging also features an integrated QR code, giving installers instant access to best-practice technical support, including how-to fit videos and troubleshooting advice directly from their mobile device.

Claire Goulding, Brand and Communications Manager, Carwood comments;

“The packaging redesign is much more than just looks. We wanted to create a solution that improves efficiency for our customers, enhances protection for our products and supports our sustainability ambitions. The result is a smarter, cleaner and more practical design that reflects the quality of our remanufactured parts inside.”

As part of the change, Carwood is phasing out OEM-branded packaging for its approved fuel pumps and injectors. The move ensures a consistent Carwood identity across its aftermarket range, while maintaining the same OE-quality remanufactured products that installers already know and trust. It will also help mitigate recent supply issues with OEM boxes, which on occasion has resulted in Carwood product being packaged in a brown box. Emphasising this point, Goulding concludes.

“Only the box has changed. Not the part inside. It’s the same OE-quality remanufactured part you’ve always fitted – just now in a Carwood branded box, making it easier to identify, reorder and access technical support in the workshop.”
