Carwood launches OE-approved remanufacturing for Euro 6 F2 fuel systems

Part of a wider Euro 6 solution, which also includes OE new and exchange units, Carwood’s reman parts programme provides distributors and fleet operators with yet another high-quality, cost-effective and sustainable option. The OE-approved solution helps keep vehicles on the road for longer, minimising costly downtime and operating costs, for a more productive and profitable fleet.

On the opening day of Road Transport Expo, leading remanufacturer and parts distributor, Carwood, has launched reman capability for Euro 6 F2 systems fitted to Volvo, Renault, Hyundai, DAF and Mercedes-Benz on-and off-highway applications. The programme, which complements its existing lineup of OE pumps and injectors, is designed, engineered and tested to deliver the exact same reliable and long-lasting engine, fuel and emissions performance as new, and comes with a same-as-new warranty for added peace of mind. Costing significantly less, it enables fleets to reduce fuel and maintenance bills, unexpected downtime, and total cost of ownership over the vehicle’s lifetime.

“By achieving a 99.7% and 95% reduction in particulate matter and NOx respectively, versus Euro 1, Delphi’s F2 systems are helping fleets to bridge the gap with near-future zero-emission technologies,” comments Mick Friar, Head of Sales – Commercial Vehicle, Off-Highway and Large Engine, Carwood. “This makes them a popular powertrain choice for many of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.”

He continues; “The challenge for remanufacturers like Carwood, has been how to maintain these exact same operating standards – 3000 bar pressure, multiple injection events, 38-character correction code – in the aftermarket, but at a more budget-friendly price. To do that, we’ve adopted an OE-approved process that mirrors the complexity and intensity of the production of the original component. The difference being that we return an already used part to its original spec, rather than producing a new one. This ensures our Euro 6 reman parts can deliver the precise quantity and timing of fuel needed, for a smoother and cleaner combustion, whatever the conditions. But at a fraction of the cost and environmental impact.”

Available off the shelf, Carwood’s reman range includes both pumping and non-pumping variants for F2E, F2P and F2R systems. As an authorised distributor, the company also stocks a full range of Delphi new and exchange pump and injectors, covering a parc of more than 1.8 million vehicles worldwide. With three proven-quality options, all at different price points, aftermarket businesses can choose the right solution, without compromising on performance or service.
